On Sunday, September 27, the SHAR will host the Conference of Historians and History Enthusiasts of the Federation of Historical and Archaeological Societies of Alsace. The last time this conference was organized by the former SAR was in … 1939. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the morning<\/strong>, after a welcome coffee and the opening remarks, three presentations, each lasting about 30 minutes, will be held in the Salle des F\u00eates at City Hall.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. History of Alsace Wines or Wines of Alsace’s History<\/strong>, by Claude Muller, former director of the Institute of Alsatian History and president of the Federation from 2023 to 2026.<\/li>\n
  2. Building in Alsace in the Wake of the Thirty Years’ War<\/strong>, by R\u00e9mi Baudru, honorary architect and urban planner, graduate of the Center for Advanced Studies in History and the Conservation of Ancient Monuments.<\/li>\n
  3. The History of Tourism in Riquewihr: From an Unknown Gem to a Celebrated Gem<\/strong>, by Raymond Scheu, secretary of the SHAR and vice president of the Federation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Following the reception hosted by the City of Riquewihr, dinner<\/strong> will be served at Restaurant Au Dolder and Le M\u00e9di\u00e9val.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Afternoon<\/strong>: Choose from 3 activities:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Guided Tour of Riquewihr<\/li>\n
    2. Tour of the Dolder and the Thieves’ Tower<\/li>\n
    3. Medieval-themed activities organized by the Alsatiae Protectores<\/em> association, Cour des Bergers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Registration (\u20ac39 per day, meals included) must be completed with Daniel Jung or Raymond Scheu by August 31. The number of spots is limited by the venue’s capacity. <\/p>\n
