Christmas Market: November 25 to December 20, 2023

It’s one of the region’s most popular Christmas markets, attracting visitors from all over Europe every year.

Riquewihr’s Christmas market stretches through the town’s picturesque streets, with stalls offering a wide variety of crafts, gifts, decorations and local Christmas specialities, such as traditional “bredele” (Alsatian cookies) and “vin chaud” (spiced mulled wine).

Riquewihr’s Christmas market also offers a wide range of events for the whole family, including Christmas concerts, arts and crafts exhibitions, and guided tours of the town to discover its historical and cultural heritage.

The warm, festive atmosphere of this traditional Christmas market is enhanced by the beautiful illuminations that adorn the town’s streets and half-timbered houses, creating a magical atmosphere that transports visitors into the Christmas spirit.

Climb the Dolder during Christmas Market weekends

The iconic Dolder will be open on Christmas Market weekends from 11am to 5pm.

A chance to (re) discover the evolution of a fortified winegrowing town from the 13th to the 17th century, to see how the Riquewihriens fought against attackers and fire, and from the 4th level to discover an unforgettable view of the town in the Christmas atmosphere and the Rhine plain.
